Country: The Netherlands
Personal data we may collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may process your name and email address when you subscribe to the newsletter or contact us; the content of messages you send; and limited technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, which is generated by the web server or by third-party services when you load a page.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- Newsletter — to send the Motorcycles & Legends newsletter to people who have signed up. Legal basis: your consent.
- Correspondence — to read and answer messages you send us. Legal basis: your consent or our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.
- Running the website — to keep the site available, secure and working correctly. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website.
- Legal obligations — to meet accounting, tax and other legal duties. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
Newsletter
The newsletter is created and sent using Beehiiv, which acts as our service provider and stores your email address and engagement data such as opens and clicks in order to deliver the emails. Signing up is entirely voluntary, and the sign-up form is only for the Motorcycles & Legends newsletter. Every email contains a working unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing motorcyclesandlegends@hotmail.com. Beehiiv’s own privacy information explains how it processes data as our provider.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the website and the newsletter. They process data on our instructions under a data processing agreement, or as independent controllers for their own services where that is unavoidable.
- Beehiiv Inc. — newsletter sign-up form, subscriber list and email delivery.
- Hostinger — website hosting and server logs.
- Email provider — storage of messages you send to the contact address.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.
How long we keep it
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to deal with your enquiry, and afterwards only where a legal or accounting retention period applies. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Transfers outside the EEA
Some providers, including Beehiiv, are established outside the European Economic Area or use infrastructure there. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, it is done on the basis of the safeguards those providers offer, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to the newsletter list and the contact mailbox is protected by strong, unique credentials, and personal data is shared only with the providers listed above.
Your rights
You may request access to your personal data, ask for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted, object to processing based on legitimate interest, ask for a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Email motorcyclesandlegends@hotmail.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
